The Public Software Foundation
A new advocacy group, the Public Software Foundation (PSF),
is working to make free and open source software available to local
libraries so it can be checked out and used just like a book or video.
The premise is simple: hand out one CD and maybe you've taught one
person; make it available in a library and perhaps you'll reach
hundreds or even thousands.

I can see this this initiative needs some advocacy and a collaborative effort must make this easier, but I am confused.
You still need to turn on someone at each library service to get them to do it and all that seemed to be available were some very large image files for printing case covers for 3 distros and OO, some minimal instructions and links to ONdisk.com to buy (cheaply) physical discs.
The idea is excellent and I suppose they are just getting it off the ground. It would be nice to see some pamphlets. I can't work out if they are targetting libraries directly or encouraging open source advocates to donate discs to their library.
Do you know any more?
