DingoPlusOne

Now as the 4.1.1 edition of Puppy has been released I will create a new version of DingoPlus containing the newer kernel and latest bug fixes. I will call this edition DingoPlusOne. Its primary target will still be the original Asus Eeepc 701 as this is the only netbook I have access to at the moment. It will contain most of the same software albeit with updated versions of some packages and a few minor changes. This version is unlikely to offer any significant benefits over the original DingoPlus on the 701, but as 4.1.1 has better support for the later models it may perform better on the 900 and 1000 series. It will however offer significant improvements in performance on dual core processors as the earlier kernel did not support dual cores.

I am in the process of uploading the original ISO's to puppylinux.ca (many thanks to Caneri for generously providing the hosting) and I will post the new URL's once they have been uploaded. I will also be uploading DingoPlusOne to puppylinux.ca once it is ready. After that I intend to use DingoPlusOne on the 701's until they fall to pieces! I don't think that any new versions will offer any real advantages over what it can acheive at the moment. If I manage to obtain another netbook, e.g. An Asus 900, 1000 series, or A Dell Mini 9 or Toshiba N300 I will then try to develop a version aimed specifically at that model.
