PSIP Beta available

PSIP is an internet phone for Puppy currently at version 0.9.9. Through rapid development and the worthy efforts of Will Davies aka 'HaryWill', it is emerging into a viable program. We have narrowed down a cut off error to the coding . . .

It has been quite a journey. Onward . . .

We started with Skype. Worked OK. Then Gizmo. Also a good program but we wanted something smaller. Simpler. Puppy style.

We found Pjsua and moved from a simple command line program, to a fully Puppy Community enhanced program. Many people have contributed: ideas, icons, coding, suggestions and testing. The process continues and when the program is stable we might find we can leave messages and questions from any future Puppy and Puplet. Bravo. Dog biscuits all 'round.

New users are welcome to help testing.

PSIP is 0.9.8 better than 0.9.9

There was a significant change in the internal architecture between these two versions, which doesn't seem to have solved the problem of hanging calls. My opinion is that the functionality in 0.9.8 is more complete YMMV.

I would be very interested in reports from  people using the command line pjsua as to whether they suffer from any dropped calls.
