Puppy Sanity Check
I am using Puppy 4 Dingo Sanity Check (that is the final pre release version using the earlier kernel)
The first thing I did was install Skype 2 which Wolf_pup kindly compiled
. The sound was working OK
- web cam drivers will need recompiling for the 4 series to get video
but I can already pick up others using video
Skype is a lot of fun and I am interested in interviewing
Puppy users once I figure out recording . . .
I have been using my Eeepc to find wifi hotspot benches
Outside the local library? No - only kebab shop and a few
other businesses. One open/unlocked network but only 15%
Town Center. Loads of weak signals, all locked
Police Station. One signal locked.
Next the local common, which has some houses overlooking
. . . might be lucky there. I know of three local pubs/bars
and a coffee place offering wifi but I want free as in free
with no payment. I hear there is a 22 mile stretch of the River Thames
with free wifi - gonna find that . . . I will just swim out and log in . . .

Logitech Quickcam Fusion
Thanks for posting this, is there a link somewhere that can help me recompile a driver for my webcam (Logicool Quickcam Fusion) or a 'step' list to help me. (sorry im a newbie in linux puppy)
Thanks
wireless on the common
Lob,
I have a mental image of you skulking round the common waving your laptop over peoples fences. Can you get kismet running and maybe gpsdrive too? Make sure you are wearing your Official Crustacean badge so the rozzers know you are safe!
Skulking cructacean . . .
I tried again - I will do a blog entry about it . . .
Basically it seems that benches under blocks of flats are a good place . . .
