I tested linux
I tested linux distro-Debian, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Mandriva Free, Mandriva Xtreme 2.1 Live DVD, Slax, Damn small linux and I think Puppy Dingo ist the best distro, he is fast, small and he has all to work every day :) My dream: Puppy 4.0+compiz fusion=extra iso :)
maybe you can try...
have you ever tried wifislax? I think that puppy is better, of course..lol, but maybe your wireless will work on that OS

I like the 3.1 reduced version.

Wireless
I'm trying to use Puppy on the Assus eeepc. I"ve tried Dingo and Puppeee, and have the same problem. So far, no one has a solution.
My Assus is one of the XP versions. The wireless works fine in XP.
I can't hook up with Puppy in either manifestation. In fact, I can't hook up with any Linux distro that I've tried.
People on the Pupeee forum, with the linux boxes, have no trouble, and say that I should't be having a problem.
Perhaps I'm just not seeing what I should do to connect wirelessly.
Puppy works on my Toshiba, and on my HP, but not on the Assus.
Can anyone give me some really simple minded instructions to solve this? I mean step by step. I just don't get it.
Wireless is turned on. It isn't detected by the OS when using Linux of any sort.

Great!!! :-) :-)h
I love this! I tried the Ubuntu Live CD, and it was So Slow. I got so bored that i had to reboot and remove the CD. Puppy runs as better and faster than DOS, which is REALLY fast!
Main Download location changed
I've changed the main download location URL here to Ibiblio as some were complaining about bad md5sums and down server from the original nluug link. However Ibiblio is incredibly slow for me, so do let me know if you'd prefer the old link back up.
Brought an oldie back to life
Gave my old Pentium II new life. Runs much faster than I was expecting. Truly a Lightweight Distro.
Easy Live USB creation from Windows using UNetbootin
A rather handy utility I've found, UNetbootin, allows for the creation of Live USB drives for Puppy or its derivatives via a nice Windows graphical user interface, simply by giving it the Puppy ISO file to load. Perhaps someone may want to add it somewhere into the howto docs?
Verry small os, exactly what

what apps did you use ?
and how? pls help..^_^
ghost ? clone your HDD??
Easy to use.
The reason I'm installing this is because I'm currently setting up a small computer system for my neice. Now I know with windows you can do anything but it has a pretty hefty price tag. Not wanting to spend alot of money and the fact that linux is very stable with extremely few viruses released. Although all the ones that have been released are patched quickly. To the point. The file is small, took me about 20 minutes to download. Easy and ready to use. I reccomend this to any user who would like an alternative to windows.
Thank you to the producer/producers of the program. I'm not sure if it was one person or a team.
I Like It!
I just started using puppy tonight. I'm not a techie at all, so the fact that I got it running at all is something! So far I like what I see. A lot of problems as far as Puppy not recognising some hardware, or not adjusting correctly to my screen size, etc... I think it has a lot of potential though! If I can get it to run some of my Windows games (Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, etc.) then I'll make a permanent switch from XP! Hopefully some of you more experienced people out there will help us newbies make the switch.
welcome
