Parent Puppy: Puppy Linux 2.13 and BarelyPup
ISO Size: 65MB
An education-oriented build of Puppy Linux that is ready for the eeePC as well as for kiosk PCs. Breeezy is built to be a small browser of HTML pages, office documents and multimedia. Originally built as Safepup for browsing in Win-PCs without touching NTFS, it was ported to the eeePC in December 2007 using a flash-install procedure. There is also a remastering guide for the ISO. (This puplet can be deployed as network-booted Puppy using TFTP server and PXE booting).
Quotes from users:
- "... that [is] stellar wifi setup that you have in there... also that most of the pages in the firefox browser fit nicely with out much scrolling side to side. Also I can play some online games that I couldn't play with the Xandros. The streaming video is very good, better than my Dell desktop. No breakups or hesitancy." - Lilahblossom
- "I didn't fully appreciate breeezy until I started looking at other puppy and non-puppy distros and trying to get the network drivers installed and things like the Flash plug-in and divx playback support enabled. This is a *great* distro for Linux newbs like myself." - gadgetguyinva
- "I was on my wpa network in about 5 minutes [of fresh installation]. This is a good alternative when I am on public hotspots." - ID
