A Distribution Method

CoBlitz provides a means to scalably serve large files over an HTTP content distribution network. Neither the original host nor the person who wants to download need special software, special ports open etc. It takes a lot of the burden off the original server, and people can still get the file if the original server goes down, because the file is also stored on hosts in the CoBlitz/ CoDeeN network of university computers. It's free, it's easy, it helps out Puppy hosts, so you might as well do it.

How to use it

Just put this at the start of a direct download link:

http://coblitz.codeen.org/∞

and then click & download as usual. It's that easy.

So for example, a regular link for the Puppy 3.01 Manual PDF file is like this:

http://www.puppylinux.ca/members/manuals/manual301en.pdf∞

The CoBlitzed version is like this:

http://coblitz.codeen.org/www.puppylinux.ca/members/manuals/manual301en.pdf∞
